I was once surrounded by a herd of giraffe whilst on safari, and sat enchanted as these gentle animals silently wandered around picking off tasty morsels from the surrounding vegetation. This baby is a reticulated giraffe, which giraffe spotters will recognise from the coat of coloured polygons. All giraffes develop horns, which are properly known as ossicones.
